Where GPS ends, the journey begins

Nabuurs&VanDoorn start with a place, not with a plan.

During the months of August and September, Museum van Alle Tijden / ALARM serves as their base. From there, they venture into Beugen and the surrounding area. Not to follow a route, but to let themselves be guided by whatever presents itself along the way: a conversation, a detour, an object, a memory, or an unexpected encounter.

This is how Nabuurs&VanDoorn (both hailing from Brabant) always work. Their projects emerge through improvisation, in dialogue with the environment. The landscape is not a backdrop, but an active participant. That is why no one – not even the artists themselves – knows where this journey is leading or what will ultimately be on display. The work grows out of the people, the place, and the events of these weeks.

Museum of All Times / ALARM thus becomes more than a museum. It is a temporary workshop where studio, exhibition, and landscape flow into one another. Visitors are welcome to walk in, follow the process, and become part of what unfolds along the way.

This residency is part of Landscape Adrift, an artistic trajectory by Nabuurs&VanDoorn exploring new ways of looking at, moving through, and giving meaning to the Brabant landscape. This project is made possible with support from the Province of North Brabant.

The work period concludes with an exhibition.

The finissage takes place on Sunday, September 20.

The exhibition will then be on view until October 11, 2026.
